Galw am Ymchwilwyr Cymunedol Ydych chi eisiau dysgu am effaith twristiaeth yng Ngwynedd a Chonwy, a'r hyn y gall ein cymunedau ei wneud i'w siapio, fel ei fod yn gweithio i ni? Os mai ydw yw'r ateb, yna dewch i gymryd rhan mewn prosiect sy'n archwilio pa fudd mae cymunedau o ardal dyffrynnoedd Ogwen, Ffestiniog, Nantlle a Chonwy am ei gael o dwristiaeth yn y dyfodol yn yr ardal o amgylch Llwybr Llechi Eryri. Cynhelir y prosiect i ddechrau am ddeuddeg mis rhwng 24 Hydref a 25 Medi. Byddwn yn talu £20 yr awr i'r cyfranogwyr, a disgwylir y telir £200 y mis i bob ymchwilydd am 10 awr o waith. Byddwch yn dysgu sgiliau trosglwyddadwy ac yn ennill hyder wrth ddylunio a chynnal ymchwil gymunedol mewn tîm dyffryn (6-8 o bobl yn ôl pob tebyg). Byddwch yn gweithio gyda chynghorwyr academaidd ac yn cael cymorth lleol. Bydd cyfleoedd i drefnu gweithdai a digwyddiadau. Clean Slate Researchers
Call for Community Researchers Do you want to learn about the impact of tourism in Gwynedd and Conwy, and what our communities can do to shape it, so it works for us? If the answer is yes, then come and take part in a project exploring what communities from the valleys of Ogwen, Ffestiniog, Nantlle and Conwy want from the future of tourism in the region around ‘Llwybr Llechi Eryri’ the Snowdonia Slate Trail. The project will run initially for twelve months from October 24 to September 25. We’ll pay participants £20 per hour, with an anticipated £200 a month per researcher for 10 hours of participation. You’ll gain transferable skills and confidence in designing and conducting community research in a valley team (probably 6-8 people). You will work with academic advisers and have local support. There will be opportunities to organise workshops and events. Come and join a growing community of people in the four valleys trying to shape the future of the region in positive ways. And at the same time build a CV which strengthens applications for work or education. Cefndir y prosiect Mae dyffrynnoedd Conwy, Ogwen, Ffestiniog a Nantlle, yn arloesi model o ddatblygiad cymdeithasol dan arweiniad y gymuned, datblygiad economaidd, diwylliannol ac amgylcheddol. Mae cymunedau ar draws y dyffrynnoedd hyn yn cymryd rheolaeth o’u dyfodol. Yn awr mae 25 o fentrau cymdeithasol ledled y dyffrynnoedd yn mynd i’r afael ag ystod eang o faterion pwysig, ac yn darparu bywoliaeth o ansawdd da i bobl leol. Ffestiniog sydd gan y gyfran uchaf o swyddi y pen yn unrhyw le yn y DU. Rhoddodd Ymchwil ac Arloesedd y DU 12 mis o gyllid i archwilio sut y gallai rhwydwaith ymchwil gymunedol fod o gymorth i gymunedau yn y dyffrynnoedd llechi i gael mwy o lais a rheolaeth dros y materion o bwys iddynt, i gefnogi a datblygu sgwrsio cymunedol, ac i adeiladu dyfodol ffyniannus a chynaliadwy. Rydym yn awr yn symud ymlaen i ail gam y broses. Mae tîm y prosiect, sy’n cynnwys cynrychiolwyr o Lwybr Llechi Eryri, Partneriaeth Ogwen, Siop Griffiths CYF a Chwmni Bro Ffestiniog, gyda chefnogaeth academyddion o Economi Sylfaenol Cyf a’r elusen addysg gyhoeddus Economy, wedi bod yn cwrdd ers Tachwedd i archwilio sut beth fyddai’r gwaith yma. Rydym wedi penderfynu archwilio beth mae cymunedau yn y dyffrynnoedd hyn yn ei deimlo sydd ei angen arnynt i ddeall, ail-ddychmygu a siapio twristiaeth yn y pen draw yng Nghonwy a Gwynedd yn y dyfodol, fel ei fod yn darparu’r hyn sy’n bwysig i ni gyd. Mae un mewn pump o bobl Conwy a Gwynedd yn gyflogedig yn y sector twristiaeth, ond yn aml mae’r gwaith yn talu’n wael, yn ansicr ac yn dymhorol. Oherwydd y cynnydd mewn Airbnb a llety gwyliau tymor byr, mae’n debyg ei bod yn anoddach i bobl leol gael tai ac mae’n golygu fod twristiaid yn treulio llai o amser yn y rhanbarth. Bydd y modd y mae twristiaeth yn datblygu yng Nghonwy a Gwynedd dros y degawd nesaf yn cael effaith sylweddol ar dwristiaeth yn y cymoedd llechi, ac felly mae’n werth i ni ystyried yr hyn yr ydym eisiau ohono a sut i’w gyflawni. Byddwn yn cynnal ymchwil i dwristiaeth yng Nghonwy a Gwynedd, ac yn edrych ar fodelau eraill o dwristiaeth mewn gwahanol rannau o Gymru a’r byd, y gallwn ddysgu ohonynt. Byddwn yn cynnal sgyrsiau cymunedol, ac yn ymchwilio i ddeall yr hyn y mae cymunedau’r cymoedd llechi ei eisiau o dwristiaeth yn y rhanbarth, a’r modd y gellir dylanwadu ar sut mae’n datblygu. Yna byddwn yn dadansoddi a rhannu canfyddiadau’r sgyrsiau hyn gyda’n cymunedau, Awdurdod Lleol, Llywodraeth Cymru a’r prif randdeiliaid. Datblygwn gynllun ar sut y mae modd ehangu’r ymchwil cymunedol hwn dros y bum mlynedd nesaf. Rydym yn chwilio am Rydym yn recriwtio tîm o chwech i wyth o bobl leol o ddyffrynnoedd Conwy, Ogwen, Ffestiniog a Nantlle i ymuno â thîm y prosiect fel ‘ymchwilwyr cymunedol’ ar gyfer y gwaith hwn. Byddwn yn talu’r ymchwilwyr cymunedol hyd at 10 awr y mis rhwng Tachwedd 24 a Medi 25. About the project The valleys of Conwy, Ogwen, Ffestiniog and Nantlle, are pioneering a model of community led social, economic, cultural and environmental development. Communities across these valleys are taking their future into their own hands. There are now 25 social enterprises across the valleys addressing a wide range of important issues and providing good quality livelihoods for local people. Ffestiniog now has the highest proportion jobs per capita of anywhere in the UK. UK Research and Innovation provided 12 months of funding to explore how a community research network could help communities in the slate valleys have more voice and control on the issues which matter to them, support community dialogue and development, and build a prosperous and sustainable future. We are now moving on to phase two of this process. A project team made up of representatives from Llwybr Llechi Eryri (the Snowdonia Slate Trail), Partneriaeth Ogwen, Siop Griffiths CYF and Cwmni Bro Ffestiniog supported by academics from Foundational Economy Ltd and the public education charity Economy have been meeting since November to explore what this work could look like. We have decided to explore what communities in these valleys feel they need to be able to understand, reimagine and ultimately shape tourism in Conwy and Gwynedd in the future so that it delivers what is important to us all. One in five people in Conwy and Gwynedd are employed in the tourism sector but often the work is low paid, insecure and seasonal. The rise of Airbnb and short-term holiday lets could be making housing harder to get for local people and meaning tourists spend less in the region. How tourism develops in Conwy and Gwynedd over the next decade will have a huge impact on tourism in the slate valleys and so it’s worth us working out what we want from it and how we can achieve it. We will conduct research into tourism in Conwy and Gwynedd and look at alternative models of tourism in other parts of Wales and the world that we could learn from. We will facilitate community conversations and research to understand what slate valleys’ communities want from tourism in the region and where there are opportunities to influence how it develops. We will then analyse and share the findings from these conversations with our communities, Local Authority, Welsh Government and key stakeholders. We'll develop a plan for how we could expand this community research over the next five years. We’re looking for We are recruiting a team of six to eight local people from the valleys of Conwy, Ogwen, Ffestiniog and Nantlle to join the project team as ‘community researchers’ for this work. We will pay community researchers for up to 10 hours a month between November 24 and September 25.
